TYMPANOL oral emulsion

Composition:

1mL of the veterinary preparation contains:

Active substance:
Simethiconum 85 mg (activated Dimethicon = activated Polydimethlysiloxane)

White to yellowish, easily shakeable emulsion.

Characteristics:

Tympanol is a veterinary preparation in the form of an emulsion containing polydimethylsiloxane activated by colloidal silicon dioxide acting as an effective agent to alleviate the symptoms of excessive gas accumulation in the rumen, stomach and intestines, which is formed during digestion as a result of dietary errors. These symptoms include a feeling of fullness, severe flatulence, belching, disorders of the digestive system, and consequently also of the respiratory and circulatory systems. It is used as defoaming agent eradicating foam by affecting its surface tension. It causes bursting of gas bubbles, thus facilitating the passage of the gases.

Area of use:

All conditions accompanied by the excessive accumulation of gas in the gastrointestinal tract:

• acute bloating in ruminants, in case of abrupt transition from dry feed to green and vice versa (after feeding of young clover, alfalfa, legumes, vegetables, etc.)
• bloating calves caused by the dietary errors
• acute bloat in rabbits
• gas colic in horses
• as anti-foaming preparation in poisoning with foaming preparations

Dosage:

- cattle, horse: 25 mL diluted in 3-5 litres of water
- calf, sheep, goat:10 – 15 mL diluted in 1 – 2 litres of water
- rabbit: 1 teaspoon
25 mL is a single dose for adult cattle, horse or for 4 calves, sheep and goats.
Shake well before use.

Route of administration:

Orally, thoroughly dilluted in water via bottle or probe.
In early administration (peristalsis in a good condition) the improvement of the health condition is evident in 10 – 20 minutes.
In more serious cases use syringe and inject diluted, thoroughly shaked preparation into a paunch. The injection site into a paunch is the same as in a trocar. While injecting, move with a syringe in different directions so that the preparation could meet the most of the paunch content.

Storage:

Keep out of the reach and sight of children. Store below 25°C. Protect from frost. Protect from light.

Shelf-life:

3 years.
