HELMIGAL 25 mg/g premix for medicated feedstuff

 Composition:

1 g of the veterinary medicinal product contains:

Active substance:
Fenbendazolum 25 mg

Excipients: Calcii hydrogenophosphas dihydricus

White-grey powder.

Indications:

Pig and wild boar:
Parasitic diseases caused by developmental stages and adults of parasites:
Lung nematodes: Metastrongylus spp.
Gastrointestinal nematodes: Ascaris suum, Oesophagostomum spp., Hyostrongylus rubidus, Trichuris suis
Kidney nematodes: Stephanurus dentatus.
Weaker effect is against Strongyloides ransomi.

Dosage for each species, route and method of administration:

Pig, wild boar:
General dose is 5 mg fenbendazole per kg bodyweight, single-dose, i.e. 0.2 g of medicine per kg bodyweight. Or 10 kg of HELMIGAL 25 mg/g per ton of feed stuff, single dose.
More effective is lower dosage: 3 mg per kg bodyweight, i.e. 0.12 g of medicinal product per kg bodyweight, in 24-hour intervals during 3-5 days.
For the preparation of medicated feed the body weight of the animals to be treated and their actual daily feed consumption should be taken into account. Feed intake may vary depending on factors like, age, state of health, climatic conditions, breed and husbandry system. In order to obtain the correct dosage, the actual feed consumption should be taken into account and required concentration of the product in grams per kilogram of feed should be calculated according to following formula:

(0.12 or 0.2 g product per kg bw. per day x Average bodyweight (kg) of animals to be treated) / Average daily feed consumption (kg) per animal =…. g product per kilogram of feed

To ensure a correct dosage, body weight should be determined as accurately as possible. For bulk administration, create animal groups based on live weight.
Regular deworming twice a year is recommended.

Advice on correct administration:

Oral administration. Homogenously incorporated into the feed stuff.

Withdrawal period: 

Meat and offal of pigs: 5 days.

Contraindications: 

Do not use in hypersensitivity to active substance.

Adverse reactions:

Not Known.
Adverse reactions associated with the death of parasites may occur in deworming of animals with massive parasite invasion.

Special storage precautions:

Keep out of the reach and sight of children. Store at 25°C. Store in a dry place. Protect from light.
Do not use this veterinary medicinal product after the expiry date stated on label. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Shelf-life after incorporation into the feed: 5 days.
